Attracting thousands of people for a weekend of excitement and amusement. The world’s most ambitious GDay party to date, 917 #ExtraGDayEveryday, was organized.
On 917, September 17, events went off without a hitch at both the Circuit Events Ground Makati and the Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa City, except for some suspicious attempts to disrupt cell phone service.
“Our 917 GDay this year marked the first time we had many on-ground events, and we are glad that our customers went out to participate in them. We really wanted to pursue face to face events which we have been missing since the pandemic. We are only too happy that our customers found time to enjoy the festivities,” said Jerome Patalud, Head of Globe Rewards.
Thousands of people attended the GMusic Fest at Circuit Events Ground Makati to enjoy a day of excellent music and interactive booths, with many attendees taking home Globe freebies as well as unforgettable experiences.
More than six thousand people attended the half-day extravaganza, and most of them stayed for the duration of the show to see the collection of top-tier performers that Globe had assembled to delight its clientele.
Kathlyn Guinto, a loyal Globe client for the past 15 years, had a great time at the GMusic Fest. She tweeted her excitement upon meeting Drag Race Philippines “queens” and Thai singer Phum Viphurit.
“It was my first time watching Phum Viphurit perform live. Finally! WOW. WOW. WOW…. Thank you for bringing them here, Globe!” she said in her post, adding the event hashtag #GMusicFest.
Since Guinto is a huge fan of Drag Race PH, she and her sister decided to attend the event specifically to witness the participants.
“My sister and I had so much fun amidst the rain. It was an unforgettable event, considering it’s my first concert/music fest since the pandemic. Thankful to Globe for bringing these artists together,” she said.
Top Filipino performers such as KAIA, Matthaios, The Juans, Unique Salonga, and I Belong to the Zoo performed alongside K-Pop group bugAboo, who were making their first live performance in the Philippines at G Music Fest.
Free rides on GET electric buses were provided to festival-goers so that they could get to and from the site securely.
When asked what they thought of the music festival, the majority of attendees said they loved the musical performances the most and gave the festival a perfect score of 10.
In the meantime, in Sta. Rosa, Globe hosted a party for its most valuable client partners and customers. Participants in Globe’s #MagicalGDay were able to enjoy a variety of thrilling attractions and interactive booths, many of which were sponsored by other companies in the industry. Having quiz competitions and a raffle for awesome prizes really made the day stand out.
As consumers enjoyed the festivities on the ground, Globe’s network security found an attempt to jam signals. There have been reports of Globe subscribers mysteriously receiving “spam” texts from competing networks that carry offers for free data. Signal drops of several minutes’ duration were also observed at both locations, however after being blocked by Globe’s network security, service was restored.
This September, Globe will provide even more specials to celebrate GDay. Players of Mobile Legends and Valorant should keep an eye out for G Battle Zone, a tournament running till September 24 in the SM MOA Atrium.
Globe customers can enter G Chance the Raffle every week for a chance to win P1 million and other great weekly prizes. Download the New GlobeOne app, sign up for Globe Rewards, and then use your points to buy something at ECPay-affiliated sari-sari shops or enter a lottery.
The Hapag Movement is a Globe-led initiative with other institutional partners to alleviate hunger that people cannot control by using technology, and Globe will donate an equal amount of rewards points redeemed for lottery participation to the movement.
Customers of Globe can contribute to the Hapag Movement through the use of Globe Rewards, GCash, and credit card transactions made on the Globe website. With as little as P50 a day, the hungry can eat one full meal.
